March 9 Is it Social Recreation or Addiction?, featuring David Moran, director of Substance Abuse Services, Community Hospital. Tuesday, March 9, 5-7 p.m., Café Carl at Springfield Hospital, located at 190 W. Sproul Rd., Springfield. Meal costs $6.00 and includes entrée, roll, choice of two sides, dessert and a fountain drink. Free parking is also included. Wake Up and Work Out: Start your day the healthy way! Come join us as Crozer-Keystone Senior Health Services and the Healthplex® Sports Club provide seniors with an opportunity to jump start their day by participating in structured health and wellness programs, while offering an affordable balanced breakfast. Participants will also benefit from the support of CKHS staff that will assist in coordinating medical appointments, as well as provide better access to appropriate medical services.
Program will be offered on Tuesday, March 2, topic will be “Improving Balance.” A healthy breakfast, beginning at 7:45 a.m., may be purchased for $3 or less; followed by a 30-minute lecture, both to be held in Café Carl at Springfield Hospital. A 45-minute physical fitness session will then be led by a member of the Healthplex® team. Free garage parking. Call 1-800-CK-HEALTH (1-800-254-3258) for more information and to register.
The Senior Wellness Bowling League meets every Tuesday from noon-2:30 p.m. at Conchester Lanes. Cost is $7 (includes shoes, three games and refreshments). Call (610) 485-5220.
CKHS Support Groups: CKHS offers Support Groups for a variety of conditions, including Alzheimer’s disease, arthritis, cancer, diabetes and more. For more information or to register for a support group, call 1-800-CKHS-KEY (1-800-254-7539).

Screenings Crozer-Chester Medical Center, Delaware County Memorial Hospital, Springfield Hospital and Taylor Hospital offer free blood pressure screenings every week.

AARP Defensive Driving: An eight-hour driving safety course held on two days that can help you improve your driving skills and save you money on insurance.
Tuesday, March 2 and Friday, March 5, from 12:30-4:30 p.m. in the Lower Level Conference Room of Springfield Hospital;
Saturday, March 13 and Saturday, March 20, from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. in Classrooms A&B of Taylor Hospital;
Tuesday, March 23 and Thursday, March 25, from 12:30-4:30 p.m. in the Community Room of Crozer Medical Plaza at Brinton Lake.
Cost of the course is $12 for AARP members and $14 for non-members, with check made payable to AARP. To register for any of the driving courses, call Crozer-Keystone Senior Health Services at (610) 338-2729.
Also, a four-hour driving safety refresher course will be held on Wednesday, March 3, from 12:30-4:30 p.m. in the Conference Center of Delaware County Memorial Hospital. Cost of the course is $12 for AARP members and $14 for non-members, with check made payable to AARP. Registrant must provide proof of previous participation in eight-hour course. To register for any of the driving courses, call Crozer-Keystone Senior Health Services at (610) 338-2729.
